Accessibility Statement
Our commitment
1010 Electrical wants everyone to be able to use this website, whatever their level of vision, hearing, mobility or cognitive ability. We have built this site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 at level AA, and to meet our duties under the Equality Act 2010 to make reasonable adjustments.
What we have done
- Every page uses semantic HTML landmarks, a single main heading, and a logical heading order so screen readers can navigate the structure.
- A skip to content link is the first item in the tab order on every page.
- All functionality can be operated with a keyboard alone, and focus is always visible with a clear high contrast outline.
- Text colour contrast meets or exceeds a ratio of 4.5 to 1 against its background, and interface components meet 3 to 1.
- Every image carries descriptive alternative text, and decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
- Form fields have visible persistent labels, errors are described in text rather than by colour alone, and error messages are announced to screen readers.
- The cookie banner receives focus when it opens, can be operated entirely by keyboard, and does not trap focus.
- Animation is reduced automatically for anyone who has set a reduced motion preference in their operating system.
- The site works at 400 per cent zoom and reflows to a single column without loss of content or function.
Known limitations
Where content is embedded from a third party, for example a map or a review widget, we cannot always control its accessibility. Where such content is used, an accessible alternative is provided in text on the same page. Documents published before this site was built may not meet the same standard, and we will provide an accessible version on request.
Tell us if you have a problem
If you cannot access something on this site, or you need information in a different format such as large print, plain text or a readable document, email Ben@1010electrical.co.uk and tell us what you need. We will respond within five working days.
Enforcement
If you contact us with a complaint about accessibility and you are not happy with our response, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service, which provides free advice on the Equality Act 2010.
